The winter holidays are just around the corner, and we look forward to presenting the exciting theme The old and young of the sea about the age of the sea animals.

For instance, did you know that the Greenland shark is the world's oldest vertebrate? In fact, it can be over 500 years old!

You can try to determine the age of a sperm whale, cod or plaice - and the methods for doing this are different. 

Of course, you can also take a seat in the front row and experience the daily feedings in the large Oceanarium, of the seals in the outdoor “Sælarium” and in the aquarium “Molen”. 

And last but not least, you get the answer to the big question:
What does a sperm whale actually have in common with a tree?

What is the oldest animal in the North Sea? Search for the answer in the exhibition and enter the competition to win a stay at the Skallerup Seaside Resort*.

*The prize is a mid-week stay for 5 people in a D5 house. The prize can be used during blue periods throughout 2025.

Every day, the schedule includes several educational and interesting activities and feedings - indoors as well as outdoors!

Feel the sea by visiting our 'touch basin', learn more about the giants of the oceans at the Whale Researcher's Hut, have fun at the playground or in the By the Lighthouse green open space, learn more about the food chains of the oceans at the Hunters of the North Sea exhibition, or explore the fish tanks and their more then 8,000 inhabitants on your own.
