Love EGGstravaganza
It’s spring! And love blossoms in the aquariums.
Many fish species start breeding in the spring, so we are taking a closer look at eggs and fry this Easter.
We transform our Backstage area into a small fish nursery and fill the small aquariums with lots of exciting young and eggs. There will be everything from small-spotted catsharks and nursehounds to whelks and cute little lumpfish.
Danish Salmon, which specialises in salmon farming, has made sure that we can also showcase beautiful specimens from the different stages of salmon development: egg, larva and smolt.
Explore the exhibition and get answers to questions like: What marine animal lays eggs that look like pale orange peel? How can you tell the difference between the eggs of rays and sharks living in Danish waters? Do fish actually build nests for their eggs? And how many millions of eggs does an ocean sunfish lay at a time?
The Hunt for the Egg Thief
Marine animals must take extra care of their eggs and young as danger is often nearby. Some species like to steal the eggs of others to eat them.
There has also been an egg thief in our aquariums, so we need your help! Explore the clues in the exhibition and help us uncover the villain in the Hunt for the Egg Thief.
Enter to win a giant Easter egg, a cute teddy bear and the children’s book “Hvad er jeg?”.
