When the summer holidays call for adventures, fun and quality time for the whole family, the North Sea Oceanarium is the perfect destination. A day filled with fascinating sea creatures and fun activities awaits – both indoors and outdoors.
Out in the open air
In the large outdoor area, children can let off steam in the playground or try their hand at crab fishing and amber hunting. Creativity can run wild in the Shipyard, whilst the ice cream parlour tempts with cold summer favourites for the whole family. At the Seal Enclosure, you can get up close to both grey seals and harbour seals during the two daily feedings.
Closer to the sea
Inside, a fascinating underwater world unfolds with more than 75 aquariums and over 9,000 marine animals. Here you can explore the touch pool or try your hand at the many educational, interactive experiences. The main highlight is the enormous Oceanarium, where the diver feeds sharks, rays and schooling fish daily.

From weeks 28 to 32, we’re opening ‘The Ocean’s Pantry’ in the Lounge, where we’ll be showcasing all the exciting and delicious treasures the Ocean has to offer. Here, you can learn more about fish as food, see different types of fish straight from the auction, meet the fishmonger and find out more about sustainable fishing.
