How to get to the largest aquarium in Northern Europe

Finding your way to the North Sea Oceanarium is easy. We're situated in Hirtshals and there are several ways to get here.

By car

GPS:
Willemoesvej 2, 9850 Hirtshals.

 

The highway E39 takes you almost directly to our door and it is only a 45 minute drive from Aalborg.
From Frederikshavn, you go by route 35 to Hjørring and then from there by E39.
From Skagen, you take route 40 to Ålbæk and then route 597 to Hirtshals.

By train

You can get to Hirtshals by train from Aalborg. Take the train from Aalborg to Hjørring and then switch to the train to Hirtshals and get off at Lilleheden station. From the station, the Oceanarium is only a 5 minute walk.

By plane

Aalborg airport is not far from Hirtshals. From the airport, you can take a bus to Aalborg and then go from there by train.

By ferry

The ferries from Norway moor almost right outside our door.

From Kristianssand and Oslo, you can travel with Color Line

From Stavanger and Kristianssand, you can travel with Fjord Line

If you arrive from Sweden, you can go to Frederikshavn from Gothenburg and Varberg with Stena Line
